Downhill Skiing Lessons for Recreational Skiers

Skiing lessons to help you become an expert skier!

Imagine yourself cruising down a groomed run carving elegant turns with your new, shaped skis. In the distance you see two symbols, a blue square for a left turn and a black diamond for a right turn. Without hesitation you steer to the right. The pitch becomes steeper, the snow is un-groomed, and there are trees, lots of trees. You stop momentarily, pick a line, push off, and tighten your turns as you begin the descent.

Many skiers would have taken the left fork with the gentle, groomed slope. Some skiers reach a plateau in their ability and find it difficult to advance to the expert level.

Do you want to take your skiing to the next level? You know you can ski the tougher stuff, like moguls, trees, and steeps, but you just don't seem to have the strength, fortitude, or technique.

The keys to unlocking your true potential lie in your mind and body. When you are mentally prepared and physically fit, you'll be well on your way to becoming an expert skier. At this level, you don't ski to get in shape. Rather, you get in shape before heading into the expert zones.

    Let me explain ....

Bullet

Strength: First, you need to become strong and agile in the upper legs and core to handle the rigors of skiing in the expert zones.

Bullet

Mind Set: Second, you need to develop the right mind set to keep your anxieties in check and jettison any fear.

Bullet

Technique: Third, you need to learn the proper techniques to master the moguls, trees, and steeps.

Hi! My name is Jim Safianuk, the writer of the course entitled Skills of the Expert Skier and an avid, downhill skier who over the past 20+ years has skied on almost every kind of terrain imaginable. Believe me when I say that it takes muscle strength, the right mind set, and the proper technique to become an expert skier.

I spent years learning the secrets of how to ski and survive in the expert zones. I've recently put those secrets to work in my new course called Skills of the Expert Skier. Fortunately, it won't take you nearly as long as it took me to reach this level. Why?

Because I had nobody I could turn to on a regular basis to accelerate my learning. You won't have that drawback after you gain access to our downhill skiing lessons.

In the Skills of the Expert Skier I pass on the secrets, share my insights, and teach you the skills you need to ski all the terrain in the descent of the mountain with power, skill, confidence, and control. If you follow the instructions in the skiing lessons, it will definitely be you in the descent of that steep, tight, tree run.

To become an expert skier, you need the training course:

Benefits of the downhill skiing lessons!

Our ski lessons are designed for the unique needs of the recreational skier who wants to take his or her skiing to the ultimate level. Consider the following situations and the benefits should become apparent.

Bullet

Do you have to quit early because you start to hurt physically? Maybe you've said to yourself, "Why do I ache all over the day after I go skiing?"

Lesson #2 Ski-Specific Stretches and Lesson #3 Ski-Specific Exercises will get your upper legs, hips, groin, glutei, and lower back muscles in shape for expert skiing before the season starts. If you prefer you can also use these same ski-specific stretches and exercises to strengthen the above muscle groups throughout the ski season.

Bullet

Are you afraid to take your skiing to the next level? You know you can ski the tougher stuff, like moguls and steeps, but you just don't seem to have the courage.

Expert skiers know how to keep their anxieties in check. Lesson #4 entitled The Right Mind Set shows you how to control your mind and tame your fear. You'll learn to master your subconscious mind by implementing tools such as mental toughness, focus, and visualization.

Bullet

Are you always out of control and prone to crash on moguls? Do you ever say to yourself, "I can't seem to get it right. I look awful and my technique sucks!"

Lessons #6 and #7 called Moguls 101 and Moguls and the Expert Skier, respectively, show you everything you need to know to master the moguls. First, you start from the basics with short-radius turns and gentle, bump runs. Next, you learn to pick a line and ski an equally, distributed mogul field. Finally, you find out how to ski zipper runs and widely, spaced bumps.

Bullet

Do the tails of your skis slide out a lot when you're on steep slopes? Perhaps you've asked yourself, "Why do I always seem to go out of control on steeper runs?

Lesson #10 Steeps 101 intoduces you to a number of steep skiing tactics, while Lesson #11 Steeps and the Expert Skier explains what you need to know to ski steeps the expert's way.

Bullet

Are you having trouble in deep snow? Maybe you've asked yourself on occasion, "Why does the snow grab my skis all the time?"

Lesson #12 Powder - The White Magic describes how to use both skis in tandem, avoid edging, and float on powder like a water skier who planes on water. In addition, after Lesson #13 Powder and the Expert Skier you'll have the skills to take your powder skiing to the next level, the level of an expert skier.

Bullet

Have you ever said to yourself, "How can I stay in shape in the off season so it doesn't take me forever to get back into downhill form?"

Lesson #16 was added to the course to provide continuity from ski season to ski season. The lesson leaves the skier with a number of recommendations for developing his or her own ski-related summer conditioning program. In this way, the skier can stay in shape during the summer months and ramp up quickly in the fall into downhill form.
